Back to Life's beloved figure is Piper Mackenzie, a Jack Russell Terrier with a broken coat. Born on April 18th, 2020, she came into our lives during the pandemic—a true pandemic pup. Bursting with vitality and a unique personality, Piper's liveliness prompted the breeder to find her a home with ample time and patience to offer.

 

Following our time at Ty the Dog Guy training center, Piper and I developed a deep understanding of each other's roles (for the most part). Although she maintains her spirited nature, earning her the playful moniker "Pipersorous Rex," she's come a long way. Greeting and showering affection upon Back to Life's patrons, she's undoubtedly deserving of her meals and abundant treats.

Within our team of dog walkers and locals, Piper has found admirers who share in her affections—almost as much as I do. Her sentiments towards them are mutual. While she might not fit the typical image of a watchdog, with her face-licking and purse-climbing tendencies, she possesses an innate sense of discernment. In fact, she often knows better than I do who belongs and who doesn't.
